Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make these deviled eggs ahead of time for Labor Day?
Yes! Boil and peel the eggs, and prepare the yolk filling up to a day in advance. Store the whites and filling separately in the fridge, then fill and top the eggs a few hours before serving so they stay fresh and look their best.
What makes this one of the best labor day recipes for a crowd?
This recipe is easy to double or triple, requires no oven or grill space, and can be made ahead, which makes it one of the most convenient labor day recipes for feeding a big group without last-minute stress.
How do I keep deviled eggs fresh at an outdoor party?
Keep the platter on a bed of ice or in a cooler until serving time, and avoid leaving them out in direct heat for more than two hours to keep them safe and delicious.
Can I use real bacon bits instead of cooking bacon myself?
Absolutely. Store-bought bacon bits work in a pinch and save time, though freshly cooked and crumbled bacon gives the best smoky flavor and crunch.
