For the Crust:

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups chopped spinach

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large pot, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, basil, and oregano. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add chopped spinach and cook for an additional 5 minutes until wilted.
  7. Serve hot with extra Parmesan if desired.
