Baked Pears with Feta, Honey, and Cranberries

A delicious baked pear dish featuring ripe pears filled with crumbled feta cheese and dried cranberries, baked until soft and topped with honey and fresh thyme. Can be served as an appetizer, side, or light dessert.

  • Total Time: 25-30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped walnuts for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Halve the pears and scoop out the cores to create a small well in each half.
  3. Place the pears cut-side up in a baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Fill each cut-out center with crumbled feta cheese and chopped cranberries.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the pears soften and the feta starts to melt.
  6. Remove from oven, drizzle with honey, sprinkle with fresh thyme, and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Optionally, top with chopped walnuts for added crunch.

Notes

This dish is versatile and can serve as a warm appetizer, a side dish alongside poultry, or a light dessert. For extra texture, add walnuts. Adjust baking time if pears are very ripe to avoid mushiness.
