- 4 slices deli turkey
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 whole wheat tortilla, cut into pinwheels
- 1 cup seedless grapes
- 1 apple, sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup baby carrots
- 1/2 cup cucumber slices
- 2 tablespoons ranch dip or hummus
- 1/4 cup mixed nuts or trail mix
- 4 whole grain crackers
- 2 small chocolate chip cookies or a fruit snack
Instructions
- Lay out turkey and cheese slices, roll each turkey slice around a folded cheese slice, and slice into bite-sized pinwheels.
- Spread the tortilla flat, layer with a slice of cheese and turkey, roll tightly, and slice into pinwheels.
- Toss apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning, then pat dry.
- Arrange grapes and apple slices in one section of the bento box.
- Add baby carrots and cucumber slices to another section, with ranch dip or hummus in a small container alongside.
- Fill a small compartment with mixed nuts or trail mix and crackers.
- Tuck in the cookies or fruit snack as the final treat.
- Cover, refrigerate until ready to pack, and send off with an ice pack to keep everything fresh.
Notes
Swap in seasonal fruit, sunbutter instead of nuts for allergy-friendly lunches, or turkey for ham. Store components separately in the fridge for up to 3 days for easy morning assembly.
