For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add water, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
