Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 sandwich rolls or buns
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Optional: sliced pickles, lettuce, tomato
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned and onion is tender; drain excess fat.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; cook for another 2 minutes.
- Preheat broiler. Butter the insides of sandwich rolls.
- Divide the beef mixture evenly among the rolls, top each with a slice of cheddar cheese.
- Place sandwiches on a baking sheet and broil until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add optional toppings like pickles, lettuce, and tomato if desired, then serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a dash of smoked paprika or chili powder to the beef mixture. Using a sharp cheddar cheese enhances the melt and taste. Toasting the buns under the broiler briefly before assembling can add a nice crunch.
