For the Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup caramel bits or chopped soft caramels
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring until smooth.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined. Stir in pecans, caramel bits, and chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are still soft. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
