Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet

A rich and creamy skillet chicken dish inspired by Texas Roadhouse, featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a buttery garlic sauce with chicken broth, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chicken pieces with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
  6. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Let it reduce for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss it in the creamy sauce.
  9. Let everything simmer together for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the chicken to soak in the flavors.
  10. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

This dish is best served immediately to enjoy the creamy sauce at its peak. You can garnish with fresh parsley for color and a fresh flavor contrast. For a richer taste, use fresh grated Parmesan and high-quality butter.
