Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread

A moist and nutty pecan bread with a touch of sweetness, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in chopped pecans.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
