Savory Green Bean Casserole

A classic green bean casserole with a creamy mushroom sauce and crispy fried onions.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and halved
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch green beans in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  4. Stir in green beans and 2/3 cup fried onions. Transfer to a baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes. Top with remaining fried onions and bake for 5 more minutes.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
