Savory Beef Melt

A delicious and hearty sandwich filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and caramelized onions.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls, split and toasted

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season beef with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  4. Preheat oven to broil. Place toasted hoagie rolls on a baking sheet.
  5. Divide the beef mixture among the rolls. Top with caramelized onions and both types of cheese.
  6. Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
