For the Crust:
- 1 box San Giorgio Lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage with onion and garlic. Drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, parsley, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer 3-4 noodles, then half the ricotta mixture, and a third of the remaining sauce. Repeat layers, ending with noodles and sauce on top.
- Sprinkle remaining mozzarella over top. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until cheese is golden. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
