Salted Caramel Chocolate Chunk Muffins

Decadent muffins with gooey salted caramel and rich chocolate chunks, perfect for a sweet treat.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt for topping

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk until smooth.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chunks.
  5. Fill muffin cups halfway with batter, add a teaspoon of salted caramel, then top with more batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Drizzle with extra caramel and sprinkle with sea salt while warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
