For the Crust:
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- Coarse sea salt for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir. Gently fold in flour until just combined.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle half the caramel sauce over the batter. Add remaining batter and swirl with a knife. Top with remaining caramel sauce.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Drizzle with additional caramel sauce and sprinkle with coarse sea salt before serving.
