Salted Caramel Banana Bread

A moist, tender banana bread swirled with rich salted caramel and topped with a sweet caramel drizzle.

For the Crust:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
  • Coarse sea salt for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir. Gently fold in flour until just combined.
  4. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle half the caramel sauce over the batter. Add remaining batter and swirl with a knife. Top with remaining caramel sauce.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  6. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce and sprinkle with coarse sea salt before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
