For the Crust:
- 12 oz jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb ground beef
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix in the cooked ground beef.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Fill each pasta shell with the ricotta-beef mixture and arrange in the baking dish. Top with remaining marinara sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until bubbly.
