For the Crust:

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Cook penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Add cooked penne to the skillet and toss until well coated in the sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
