For the Crust:
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Cook penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add cooked penne to the skillet and toss until well coated in the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
