For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in pumpkin puree.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- In a small bowl, mix chopped pecans, honey, and melted butter. Spread over the warm cake.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
