Pumpkin Honey Bun Cake

A moist and spiced pumpkin cake swirled with a sweet honey-cinnamon filling, reminiscent of a classic honey bun.

For the Crust:

  • 1 box spice cake mix
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cake mix, pumpkin puree, eggs, and oil until well combined. Spread half the batter into the prepared pan.
  3. In a small bowl, mix honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Drizzle half over the batter in the pan. Spread remaining batter over top, then drizzle with remaining honey mixture. Swirl gently with a knife. Sprinkle with pecans if using.
  4. Bake for 28-32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
