For the Crust:

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix peaches, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peach mixture. Spread gently if needed.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
