Parker House Rolls

Warm, buttery, and soft enough to melt in your mouth, these Parker House Rolls are a must-have for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any special occasion.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1¼ cups warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup softened butter
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp rosemary

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture and mix roughly.
  3. Gradually add flour with the dough hook on low speed until a soft dough forms. Increase speed to medium and knead for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, honey, and rosemary for the filling.
  6. Punch down the dough, roll into a rectangle, spread filling evenly, cut into squares or rectangles, fold each piece in half enclosing the filling, and place folded side down in a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  7. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes until doubled in size.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. In a small saucepan, mix butter, honey, and rosemary over low heat to create a glaze. Brush warm rolls with glaze immediately after baking. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

These rolls are best served warm with the honey-rosemary butter glaze brushed on top. The dough is soft and slightly sweet, making them perfect for holiday meals. Allowing the dough to rise fully twice ensures a light, fluffy texture.
