For the Crust:
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
- Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
- Pour in chicken broth, heavy cream, and pasta. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
