One Pot Cheesy Sausage Pasta

A creamy, cheesy pasta dish with sausage, made in one pot for easy cleanup.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
  2. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Pour in chicken broth, heavy cream, and pasta. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
