For the Crust:
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, combine peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, water, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Serve warm.
