For the Crust:
- 6 cups sliced fresh peaches (about 6–7 peaches)
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish and melt in the oven while it preheats.
- In a medium bowl, combine peaches with 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla until just combined.
- Remove baking dish from oven once butter is melted. Pour batter evenly over melted butter without stirring.
- Spoon peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
