Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (115 grams) unsalted butter
- 2 cups (400 grams) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk
- 1/4 cup (20 grams) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (125 grams) creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3 cups (300 grams) quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup chopped Milky Way candy bars
Instructions
- Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa powder. Stir often until butter is melted and mixture is combined.
- Bring the mixture to a rolling boil and let boil for exactly one minute, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and immediately stir in peanut butter, vanilla extract, and chopped Milky Way bars until smooth and evenly combined.
- Fold in the quick oats until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and coated.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop individual cookies onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
- Allow cookies to cool and set at room temperature for 20-30 minutes or refrigerate to speed up setting.
- Serve once set.
Notes
1. Stir the boiling mixture constantly to prevent burning. 2. Using quick oats ensures the cookies set properly and have the ideal texture. 3. Chopped Milky Way bars add a gooey caramel and nougat layer for a unique twist.
