  • Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Yield: About 40 candies 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 14 ounces sweetened shredded coconut
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 10 ounces maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
  • 3 cups finely chopped pecans
  • 16 ounces candy coating (such as Ghirardelli melting wafers)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except candy coating in a large bowl. Mix well.
  2. Refrigerate the mixture for at least two hours.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls and chill for 20 minutes.
  4. Melt the candy coating according to package instructions.
  5. Dip each ball into the melted candy coating and let set.

Notes

These candies are perfect for gift-giving during holidays. Ensure the chocolate is melted carefully to avoid burning. You can also roll the balls in chopped nuts or toffee pieces for extra texture.
