For the Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup softened butter, and 1/4 cup sugar until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
- Beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over the baked crust.
- Combine pecans, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons melted butter. Sprinkle over the cream cheese layer. Bake for 25 minutes or until set. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
