Luxurious Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes

Decadent chocolate cupcakes filled with gooey caramel and topped with rich chocolate frosting.

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate frosting

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add oil, vanilla, vinegar, and water to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let cupcakes cool completely, then use a spoon to create a small well in the center of each.
  6. Fill each well with caramel sauce, then frost with chocolate frosting.

Notes
