Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 sticks (1 cup) butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl or mixer, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, and 2 sticks butter. Mix until the mixture is dry and crumbly.
- Grease a 10×15 inch pan or line it with parchment paper. Press the crust mixture firmly into the pan to create an even crust. Bake for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and chopped pecans until well combined.
- Remove the crust from the oven after 10 minutes and immediately pour the pecan filling evenly over the hot crust.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees F until the filling is set and bubbly.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.
Notes
Use parchment paper to ease removal and cleanup. Press the crust firmly for a sturdy base. Let bars cool fully for clean slicing.
