Homemade Tennessee Onions

A delicious Southern-style dish featuring caramelized onions baked with cheese and seasonings.

For the Crust:

  • 4 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced onions with melted butter, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Spread the onion mixture evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the onions.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley before serving.

Notes
