Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sausage links
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 triangles per can)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ºF.
- Crumble sausage links into bite-size pieces in a large skillet; cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until done, stirring frequently. Drain excess grease.
- In a medium bowl, combine cooked sausage, cream cheese, and crushed red pepper; mix well.
- Separate each can of crescent dough into 8 triangles.
- Spoon cream cheese mixture evenly onto the short side of each dough triangle, about 2 tablespoons per triangle.
- Roll up each triangle starting at the short side and place on a baking sheet with the point side down.
- Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For a spicier version, increase the crushed red pepper or add chopped jalapeños. Drain the sausage well to avoid soggy crescents. These can be prepared ahead and baked fresh.
