Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1/2 tsp sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Press 2/3 of the dough into the prepared pan. Drizzle caramel sauce evenly over the dough. Drop remaining dough by spoonfuls over the caramel layer and gently spread to cover (it’s okay if some caramel shows through). Sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely in pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste.
