Homemade Pancakes

A classic homemade pancake recipe yielding light, fluffy, and delicious pancakes with a simple batter that combines dry ingredients and wet ingredients for an easy breakfast treat.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Whisk in milk, eggs, and melted butter just until combined; do not overmix.
  3. Preheat a flat griddle or nonstick pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease if needed.
  4. Scoop 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the griddle for each pancake.
  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges appear set, about 2 minutes.
  6. Flip and cook the other side for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Use buttermilk instead of milk for extra fluffy pancakes. Do not overmix the batter to keep pancakes tender. Adjust milk quantity to get desired batter thickness.
