For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, and salt until crumbly. Press into the prepared pan to form the crust.
- Bake crust for 15 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour pecan mixture over the baked crust. Return to oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until set.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
