Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce Muffins

Deliciously moist muffins with the warm flavors of cinnamon and applesauce, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix applesauce, oil, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined (do not overmix).
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
