For the Crust:
- 1 box vanilla cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 can (15 oz) peach slices in syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare cake mix with water, oil, and eggs according to package instructions. Pour batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes.
- While cake is cooling, drain peach syrup into a bowl. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake, then pour peach syrup evenly over the cake.
- In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, melted butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg to make the cobbler topping. Sprinkle evenly over the cake.
- Return to oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until topping is golden brown. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
