Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups frozen cut green beans (or fresh, trimmed and halved)
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and boil until tender-crisp, about 2-3 minutes. Drain well.
- In a large bowl, combine the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, seasoned salt, and 1 cup of crispy fried onions.
- Add the drained green beans to the mixture and stir to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a 2-quart baking dish.
- Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes or until bubbly.
- Remove from oven and stir.
- Top casserole with remaining 1/2 cup crispy fried onions.
- Return to the oven and bake an additional 10 minutes or until onions are golden brown.
Notes
Use fresh, frozen, or canned green beans; adjust boiling time accordingly. For extra flavor, add a dash of soy sauce or use fresh mushrooms in the sauce. For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth if substituting the mushroom soup. Crispy fried onions on top can be homemade or store-bought for convenience.
