Gooey Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour and salt until combined.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot crust and let sit for 2 minutes to melt. Spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Drizzle caramel sauce over the chocolate layer, then sprinkle crispy rice cereal on top, pressing lightly to adhere.
  6. Let cool completely before cutting into bars. Refrigerate for 30 minutes for cleaner slices.
