For the Crust:
- 3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 6 French rolls or hoagie buns
- 6 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Place beef chuck roast, onion, and garlic in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, thyme, and rosemary. Pour over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until beef is tender.
- Shred the beef with two forks and return to the slow cooker.
- Toast the French rolls and top with shredded beef and a slice of provolone cheese.
- Serve with small bowls of the cooking broth for dipping.
