French Dip Sandwich

Tender beef cooked in a slow cooker with savory broth, served on toasted rolls with melted cheese for a delicious French Dip Sandwich.

For the Crust:

  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 6 French rolls or hoagie buns
  • 6 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Place beef chuck roast, onion, and garlic in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, thyme, and rosemary. Pour over the beef.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until beef is tender.
  4. Shred the beef with two forks and return to the slow cooker.
  5. Toast the French rolls and top with shredded beef and a slice of provolone cheese.
  6. Serve with small bowls of the cooking broth for dipping.
