For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup crushed cotton candy
- 1/4 cup cotton candy-flavored syrup
- Pink and blue food coloring (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until combined.
- Fold in crushed cotton candy and cotton candy syrup. If desired, divide dough and tint portions with pink and blue food coloring.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
