Easy French Onion Potato Bake

A comforting and flavorful potato bake with the rich taste of French onion soup.

For the Crust:

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish. Sprinkle half of the French onion soup mix over the potatoes.
  3. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and soup mix. Pour the melted butter and heavy cream evenly over the top.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
