Easy French Onion Potato Bake

A comforting and flavorful potato bake with the rich taste of French onion soup.

For the Crust:

  • 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Pour half of the French onion soup over the potatoes.
  3. Sprinkle half of the Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses on top. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, soup, and cheeses.
  4. Drizzle the heavy cream and melted butter evenly over the top. Sprinkle with garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
  6. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
