Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Roll out half of the cookie dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  8. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, then spread blueberry jam on top.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log, then slice into 1/2-inch thick cookies.
  10. Place cookies on prepared baking sheets and bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  11. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough log for 30 minutes before slicing to prevent spreading. Use high-quality blueberry jam for a richer flavor. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
