Cotton Candy Cookies

Soft, colorful, and fun, these cotton candy cookies are a sweet treat that tastes just like the carnival favorite in cookie form.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cotton candy flavoring
  • Optional: pastel pink and blue food coloring, cotton candy sprinkles or white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy in another large bowl.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and cotton candy flavoring.
  5. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. If desired, divide the dough into two bowls, tint one pink and one blue, then gently swirl them together.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, just until the edges set but the centers are soft.
  9. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a rack.

Notes

These cookies are perfect for themed gatherings or parties. You can customize them with pastel colors and add cotton candy sprinkles for extra fun.
