For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool for 10 minutes, then brush with melted butter and coat with cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
