For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While bread is baking, mix sugar and cinnamon for the topping in a small bowl.
- Once bread is done, let it cool for 5 minutes, then brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
