Chocolate Turtle Dream Cake

A decadent chocolate cake layered with caramel, pecans, and chocolate frosting for an indulgent dessert.

For the Crust:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until smooth. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cakes cool completely.
  4. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with half of the pecans.
  5. Place the second cake layer on top. Heat chocolate chips, heavy cream, and butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Pour over the top of the cake.
  6. Drizzle remaining caramel sauce over the frosting and sprinkle with remaining pecans. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
