Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole

A hearty and comforting casserole with layers of seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and melted cheese.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, brown ground beef with diced onion; drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Layer half the potato slices in the baking dish. Top with the cooked beef mixture, then remaining potatoes.
  4. Whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk; pour over casserole. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for 15 more minutes until cheese is bubbly and potatoes are tender.
