For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened. Add ground beef, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Add beef broth and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and mix in sour cream.
- Layer half the potato slices in the baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly over potatoes. Top with remaining potato slices and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
